G.K. Parimala has over 21 years' experience in teaching children. Armed with a P.G.D.T.E degree from CIEFL Hyderabad, an M.A in English & an M.A in Sanskrit, she has spent the last 21 years in developing new and innovative teaching techniques for children and put them to effective use. She is the recipient of a national award for Innovation in School Education awarded by NCERT, New Delhi for a paper on “An approach to Language Teaching”.
 
 
She has run her own pre-primary school and has been its principal for 21 years - a school she started with  love for children and interest in their physical and intellectual growth. She has conducted workshops on "Classroom teaching" for pre-primary and primary teachers.
 
She worked as an editor and publisher of a childrens' magazine, "Young Thought". She also worked for NIE (Newspaper In Education) by Times of India.
