A flash card is to mount a drawing, illustration or excellent quality photograph on a card board. It has a few significant characteristics. It must be exact, distinct, explicit and new. It must also be large and clear.

Cut white poster boards to the size of 11” by 11”.

The drawing, illustration or photograph must be clear and bright. Paste it at the center of the card.

At the back of the card write the name of the picture pasted for reference.

Ten cards (maximum) in each set.
For example – colours, shapes, animals (mammal) and vehicles.

1st set - Colours – 10 colours – Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Pink, Brown, Black, and Grey.

2nd set - Shapes – 10 shapes – Triangle, Square, Rectangle, Pentagon, Hexagon, Circle, Semi circle, Cone, Cube and Sphere.

3rd set - Animals – Mammals – 10 mammals – Lion, Tiger, Polar bear, Seal, Dolphin, Whale, Dog, Bat, Monkey and Man.

4th set - Vehicles – 10 Road vehicles – Bicycle, Motorbike, Scooter, Car, Van, Bus, Jeep, Truck, Fire engine and Ambulance.

If the child gets restless, then stop at six or seven cards. Stop before the child loses interest. The main aim is to hold the child’s attention. If it is missing then there is no point in continuing.
