Plants make food for themselves and for the rest of the world. Plants absorb energy from the Sun, water and carbon dioxide, by the process of photosynthesis, they produce food for themselves and for the world. Plants  give OXYGEN. Without plants there will not be any life on Earth.
 
Animals depend on plant for food and oxygen and breathe out Carbon- dioxide. Some animals eat plants. Some animals eat animals that eat plants. The plant based life cycle is called – FOOD CHAIN.  The last stage of food chain is decomposition of both plants and animals, which produce organic matters. Bacteria and fungi live on this organic matter. As a result, a rich nutrient is released to the soil which helps the plants.
Man depends on both PLANTS and ANIMALS for food and comfort. From plants he gets – Mainly food, Medicine, Rubber, Lumber, Cloth and Paper. Man has domesticated animals for Milk, Wool, and Leather. He also uses them for riding, carrying goods and pulling carriages.
A child needs to understand the values, importance and significance of PLANT AND ANIMAL LIFE.
