Being alert is a stepping stone to acquire knowledge.

To understand new things completely and to be aware of potential dangers, first a child needs to know his own body and its functions. And sharpen the uses of his five senses – hearing, sight, smell, taste and touch.

Observe   Hear   Smell
Observing the surroundings and using the evidence in front, helps the child to develop the ability to think about what might have caused certain phenomenon - like

1
White cotton cloud doesn’t have rain in it.
2
Thick grey cloud has rain in it.
3
Why do clouds move?
4
Why does the leaf fall?
5
How does the new shoot come?

Scientific explanation is not necessary for each and everything.
Nature is loaded with wonderful things. A child is benefited by just looking at it. Looking and observing cautiously has a magical effect.
