A child reacts quickly and sharply if he is contradicted and if others take his things.

When one is angry and upset, reasoning and explanation do not carry significance.

To guide a child to understand self and others – “Role Play” is the best method.
Positive side of the “Role Play” –
1
It is played in a relaxed and a happy frame of mind.
2
The child thinks that he is playing.
3
The play centers on various incidences to convey messages to the child.
4
The child slowly starts learning social behaviour.

Presentation of the “Role Play’-

1
The play time must not exceed more than three to five minutes.
2
Dialogue needs to be simple but at the same time effective.
3
Do not moralize.
4
Write pros and cons of an issue. For example – ‘Sharing’.
After the ‘Role play’, discuss the play and ask the child’s opinion about the character he has played & character’s behaviour.
Do not influence the child with your ideas and opinion.
